Design Lessons I Learned From My Mother

February 24, 2014 by carole Leave a Comment

I am in Canada (a.k.a. The Frozen Tundra), visiting my folks, and I am reminded of how influential my mother’s design aesthetic has been on my own.  My parents moved into this condo, almost 19...Read More

Key West

January 7, 2014 by carole Leave a Comment

The fam escaped for five days after Christmas.  Key West combined the best of everything for our diversity of interests. Chill out by the pool if you want (which I did with a great read “Oleander Girl” – highly recommend). Or jet-ski (which would have been an activity better...Read More

Brunswick County Parade of Homes 2012

October 22, 2012 by carole Leave a Comment

I was a judge for the Brunswick County Parade of Homes 2012, the second year I’ve been asked. Treated to a lovely dinner last Wednesday at a restaurant with incredible intercoastal views, put up at a beach front hotel, treated to breakfast and lunch the next day. How could I say no? Enjoyed...Read More

Had a lovely day with two lady friends and little man, exploring the Cashiers NC Showhouse 2012.  It is an annual event and I think this year’s 10,000 square foot house exceeded expectations.  No photos allowed, but thanks to one friend’s sneaky cell phone, other folks’...Read More

Carole Marcotte

My name is Carole and I am a caring, efficient and passionate interior decorator. I help clients create stylish, functional homes that respect their past while designing for their future. After extensive research, I work tirelessly to blend clients’ existing and new decor into the overall design scheme. I love what I do.

My ideal for the design world in general (I can dream big, can’t I?): People will stop buying crap, refurbish and highlight their existing treasures and, if they absolutely need more stuff, buy only resale items (vintage, antique, consignment or the like). And if it must be new stuff, it will provide significant function, environmental sustainability or support our artists and thereby feed our soul. I am on a mission…care to join me?

My blog is a little bit decorating tips, a little bit travel, and a whole lotta love and design musings. Xo
