Spring Inspiration

April 23, 2019 by carole 1 Comment

For some further spring inspiration, I’ve compiled quotes and poetry in addition to store photos just for fun.

I love this season as my last blog implies, so I thought I’d continue this spring inspiration theme. Since I don’t read verse as much as I did in my youth, I wanted to pair poetry with photos. While researching this blog, it seems like poets and authors also felt inspired by this glorious season.

Shakespeare

See, where she comes apparell’d like the spring.

Pericles

Our lady of the window dons spring inspired clothing and an ivy crown.

Vachel Lindsay

Spring came on forever,

Spring came on forever,

Said the Chinese nightingale.

The Chinese Nightingale

Our birdie vase makes a lovely spring statement especially with the addition of spring blooms.

Anne Bradstreet

If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant; if we did not sometimes taste of adversity, prosperity would not be so welcome.

Meditations, Divine and Moral

This table reeks of golden, spring prosperity!

Henry Reed

The early bees are assaulting and fumbling the flowers.

They call it easing the Spring.

Lessons of the War

These lovely, photographic prints always create a buzz in the store.

Lord Alfred Tennyson

In the spring a young man’s fancy lightly turns to thoughts of love.

Locksley Hall

This makes a perfect courtin’ chair, don’t you think?

Thomas Nashe

Spring, the sweet spring, is the year’s pleasant king;

Then blooms each thing, then maids dance in a ring.

Cold doth not sting, the pretty birds do sing.

Cuckoo, jug-jug, pu-we, to-witta-woo!

Spring

This Florentine box makes a great storage piece for your remote controls.

Shakespeare

From you have I been absent in the spring,

When proud-pied April, dress’d in all his trim,

Hath put a spirit of youth in everything.

Sonnet 98

spring inspiration paris in bloom book

This book makes me want to hop on a plane to the Paris I remember.

Emily Dickinson

A little Madness in the Spring

Is wholesome even for the King.

No. 1333

Adults and kids love these wildly popular laser cut clocks.

James Thomson

Come, gentle Spring! ethereal mildness, come.

The Seasons, Spring

Our spring window display beckoned for the season’s arrival yet we endured a lot of rain first.

George Herbert

Sweet spring, full of sweet days and roses,

A box where sweets compacted lie.

Virtue

This sweet, petite floral would make a lovely addition to a gallery wall.

Carole Marcotte

My name is Carole and I am a caring, efficient and passionate interior decorator. I help clients create stylish, functional homes that respect their past while designing for their future. After extensive research, I work tirelessly to blend clients’ existing and new decor into the overall design scheme. I love what I do.

My ideal for the design world in general (I can dream big, can’t I?): People will stop buying crap, refurbish and highlight their existing treasures and, if they absolutely need more stuff, buy only resale items (vintage, antique, consignment or the like). And if it must be new stuff, it will provide significant function, environmental sustainability or support our artists and thereby feed our soul. I am on a mission…care to join me?

My blog is a little bit decorating tips, a little bit travel, and a whole lotta love and design musings. Xo
