Someone Else’s Treasure

September 20, 2010 by carole Leave a Comment

The old saying really starts with “someone else’s junk,” but in this case, I assume it was their treasure. They clearly wanted it back if they loaned it out, or they wanted to identify special contents because, as you’ll see, on the bottom…

…they wrote their names. Did they keep the hidden treasures of their relationship in that box? Or did they bake cookies, deliver them in the box and ensure its return? One can only imagine and that is precisely why hunting down old and used treasures gives us the opportunity to both save the planet and have a great story to boot. This little gem is a highly decorated, gilded number made entirely of plastic…I might have completely overlooked it, had I not flipped it over and read the names “Phil and Vera.”  I was instantly smitten. It will serve some good purpose, storing the remote on the coffee table or perhaps some overflow jewelry on a vanity or maybe serve as the “wrapping” for a special gift. No matter…it was someone else’s treasure and today it is mine.
