Methinks the no-cost transformation this past weekend will end up costing me mega repair bucks, as yet undetermined. There are some things best left to professionals…and one would be moving heavy, awkward furniture. But hey, when you have a seventeen year old boy and a strong husband in-house, why not enlist them instead? This is why….
The splintered door that sits in front used to hang ON the armoire. Somehow, mid move, the sliding tray on the inside dislodged, causing the door to open and throwing the balance off for my two movers. Whilst on a phonecall, I heard a loud crash, and since I have three children and 17+ years of motherhood, I do not immediately panic…unless I hear loud cries and an ambulance siren approaching my house.
This all began as part of a plan to move a different, more functional armoire into my guest/workroom, move a desk out of said room into our den.. after moving exercise equipment out of den. A little furniture/room swapping…shoulda been easy, right? At least that’s how I pitched it to my unsuspecting husband. My guest/workroom currently looks like this….
…and I’m not one bit happy about it, so it will have to be unveiled at a later date. The moral of this story? Hire professionals? A three person, not a two person job? All in all it was a sucky Sunday and we learn that easy projects sometimes beget unexpected projects. Live and learn.
