I have been a little wary of certain online sources for vintage finds…endless array of choices, seemingly good quality but expensive as all get out. Discovered this source (not inexpensive, but a wide range of prices) that linked me to today’s treasure which is in an actual Chicago storefront (great vintage modern vibe). It somehow makes me feel better to know there is a real, live store. I’m still a bit of an internet-phobe, can you tell? After an exhaustive search for the perfect mid-century mirror at my usual haunts, spurning all things sunburst, but thinking roundish and white would be the ticket, I finally found this here…
…and though it was at the high end of my price range, it had the right feel for a funky, 70s modern house I’m doing. Love the texture, the clover shape, and the abstract, maze-like lines. And if it really were the 70s and I was strung out on some hallucinogenics and stared at it long enough, this mirror might freak me out. Well, not likely, but I will continue to hunt for affordable, vintage-inspired online shops to keep me in an internet state of mind.
