Business has been brisk for vintage Christmas decorations. I love merchandising this time of year with color themed areas, lots of ornaments and entertaining goods for the home.
The season has begun and Mr. F&F and I began this past weekend with a wine tasting, the kick-off for our season. We head to the mountains tomorrow for a fun-filled six days with our whole brood (yes, college boy, you’ll have to endure us for that long). Hoping to catch a movie…perhaps Lincoln is a good family choice? As a sidebar, Sessions, which Mr. F&F and I caught this past weekend, is not. Mr. F&F went only for the nudity and Helen Hunt, at 49 years old, did not disappoint. Except to disappoint me, because I too am 49 and realistically cannot compete with that, sir. Goodness, the deprivation and hours at the gym prepping for that role. That makes me cranky just thinking about it, Mr. F&F. A happy wife is better than a buff wife anyday.
Anyway, I digress. The latter part of the mountain trip also includes closing my booth up there. Business was inconsistent and frankly, I’m too busy with design work to worry about a long distance antiques business. When I made this decision a month ago I felt such relief. Usually I belabor such a decision then regret it. Not this time. Happy to still have this slice of antiques business in Raleigh while also looking for a larger slice in the form of a building.
