One of our favorite go-to items is a multi functional console table which can serve up many options.

Don’t let its pretty exterior fool you. This investment piece is plenty practical too and we call this multi functional console table a “lifer.”   This piece is for life and if moved around from room to room, it serves many purposes.   In this first vignette we imagined the console table in a dining room, all dolled up as a bar (which can be cleared for extra serving space during dinner parties).

After a few years, the multi functional console table might be replaced by a sideboard or dresser, and it could move to the foyer where it could house a tray to corral keys and mail, and a bust to store hats.  

Baskets underneath could hide shoes or dog leashes and other miscellany.   A mirror above the console table allows for a quick check on the way out the door.

With the advent of the flat screen TV, we kissed goodbye to the bulky armoire. A multi functional console table would do nicely to elevate the television to its new place out in the open.  And satisfy the menfolk who want to place the TV in its new place of honor.

Or the multi functional console table could serve as an extra surface in the master bedroom?  Maybe it could pose as a desk or vanity area in a guest bedroom?   Perhaps the console table could provide extra storage in a home office?  This is a great investment piece, especially for a young person just starting out.
