Another weekend in the mountains and surrounded by all things wood.
The trees and a lot of wooden architecture inspire this current fascination with wood. There is nothing like the warmth and the patina of wood incorporated into a design plan. Along with metallic and edgy elements, it tempers the glitz and adds that element of warmth into modern environments.
There’s even a book devoted to wood, including everything from baseball bats to 50,000 year old Kauri wood found in New Zealand bogs. This is on my must-read summer book list. I guess I’ve just taken for granted this element of decorating that I love. Here are some examples of beautiful wood decor.
Here’s some fun inspiration for beautiful wood. Even freebies from nature like a vase of branches or logs stacked by the fireplace or a piece of driftwood from the beach add an element of warmth only wood can impart.
