In the spirit of spring, we purged the house a couple weeks ago, and I mean PURGED. We went through the whole house and had a ridiculous car load for our local thrift store. Found some treasures in my jewellry drawer that needed attention – couple dead watch batteries, some tarnished silver jewellry, and three broken necklaces that needed re-stringing and new clasps. One is particularly sentimental – a three strand necklace of fake pearls that belonged to my grandmother. I remember the day it broke, pearls flying everywhere while I chased a toddler around the house. I’d stuck these in a drawer because I couldn’t give them away – a project for a later date. So these last couple weeks I’ve not only tried to clean up but decided to abandon and donate some things I thought were “projects,” and attack the ones that mattered. The clutter in our houses is hard to process sometimes, and even harder if we can’t make that distinction. Pick the most sentimental, take pictures of others before you toss, remember the person not the thing….
My daughter wears the other pearl necklace, as it no longer fits my fat neck…
…and I decided that we’ll share the last one…
Happy spring projects!

Great advice. But what to do with all the LETTERS? And party invitations to baby[‘s first birthday, etc. PLUS – now my computer’s hard drive is overflowing with pictures. It never ends!
