I’m thinning out. Well, not me personally, but my idea of a tablescape. Fewer, but well-chosen items, always books, something organic, real art. This is in a room that is black and white with a hint of red…I like that the motif is subtly repeated in the book lettering…

…the wooden “family” and cut-out bowl were created by husband and wife artists (purchased NC State Craft Center’s annual holiday craft show) – originally his hobby and she caught the bug. I was captivated by their story and impressed with the intricacy of their work…

Sometimes the magazines and current reads creep in, and I do love a “crowded” well-thought out tablescape, but this time of year I crave less clutter.
