Christmas Decor…for Free

December 16, 2010 by carole 1 Comment

I love to amass collections – bowls of balls (so to speak), Santas – everything looks better as a collection when decorating for the holidays.  Nature provides a lot of Christmas decor…and I’m lucky to have a magnolia tree, holly trees and some nandina bushes in my yard. ...Read More

Raleigh is Mayberry: A Trip to the Flea Market

November 7, 2010 by carole Leave a Comment

The Raleigh flea market always rates high on national lists of markets. There’s great “pickin” from furniture to dishes to collectibles and antiques. The prices are generally good, but if not, always negotiable. Owls are hot…

…and so are “hands”…

…and...Read More

Post-Soiree Sunday

May 2, 2010 by carole Leave a Comment

Went to a lovely event benefiting this organization. I was in charge of silent auction decor so, inspired by my daughter’s craft from summer camp, we fashioned these paper flowers glued to painted sticks from my backyard…

Carole Marcotte

My name is Carole and I am a caring, efficient and passionate interior decorator. I help clients create stylish, functional homes that respect their past while designing for their future. After extensive research, I work tirelessly to blend clients’ existing and new decor into the overall design scheme. I love what I do.

My ideal for the design world in general (I can dream big, can’t I?): People will stop buying crap, refurbish and highlight their existing treasures and, if they absolutely need more stuff, buy only resale items (vintage, antique, consignment or the like). And if it must be new stuff, it will provide significant function, environmental sustainability or support our artists and thereby feed our soul. I am on a mission…care to join me?

My blog is a little bit decorating tips, a little bit travel, and a whole lotta love and design musings. Xo
