Habitat for Humanity – one of my favorite sources for material-in-the-raw and helping a great cause. This treasure, in all its 70s glory – ugly wood panelling, fibre board sides, and morose stain – had its place in a disco den where everyone threw their keys in the middle of the room and well, you get the picture. It cost twenty-five bucks, plus a small can of pink paint, and leftover hardware from another project…this is it post-sanding….
…the one thing it had going for it – pretty rail and scallop detail which, when painted,…
…looked pretty sweet in my daughter’s room. We (the royal “we” which really means my handy hubby) screwed it to a kitchen table, almost the exact width of the hutch. Painted the legs of the table white and we were in business.
